AG I just went through your Blog. Damn I just noticed that ball bearings on the clutch pressure plate. I forgot all about that ball bearings when I removed the clutch to replace the two gears on my kick starter. I put a kick starter on my 06 a couple years ago and was careful not to lose it. I'm going to pull the cover and check.
    Thanks

Thanks it's a labor of love. This bike was in poor condition when I started. I enjoy understanding all the components of this motorcycle and I couldn't have done it without all the great members on our forum.

I finished assembling my forks and I should receive new Daystar boots and fork oil tomorrow. The mystery of forks is over and I have to say they were easier then I expected.

The thread below I started on tool required to service forks was extremely helpful.

What Tools Do You Use To Service Forks?

I paid $450 for the BW and the 1992 parts bike. I sold two parts so far at $60. $395 BW. I added up all the parts, paint I've purchased for the BW project. Drum roll please. $1125.00. Total $1520.00 for a restored TW. Not to bad
When I get time I'm going to list all the parts it takes to bring an old TW back to life

I finished up the forks tonight. I went with 30mm fork oil and Daystar boots. The Daystar boots are larger and don't fit well on the bottom. Thanks to Rainman's idea to cut part of the OEM boots off and use them as a spacers.

After inserting the OEM section trim off the excess, then they fit perfect on the fork housing.

Very well done Rick! When can I come down and scratch the heck out of all that fine paint?

Never, in the history of mankind, have lives, less lived, been so well chronicled.
