I had the 2nd 2000 GS delivered to Seattle. Sold it two years ago and regretted it nearly daily. I had put over 90k on it, on rode and off the asphalt (no single track to speak of). I call them a two wheeled Hum-Vee. If you like to bike camp, two up this bike will do it. I guess if I was riding single, and did far more dirt and some single track, I'd go a bit smaller in stature.
Last week, I bought an 02' with 20k miles on it, and it looks like its 6 months old. Bought it over an RT and an RS and a K bike.
"BMW"... For me, the bike I bought (again) after riding/owning most all of the rest.

Got it for $3k on Craigslist (talked down from $3.5K).

The Wilbers suspension and Jesse panniers alone are over $2k!

If it just had a 6th gear it would be perfect, but I can live with it. Top shelf scoot overall and like the big dirty bike it
was made to be when off road. Will be keeping this one a while.

...and a updated pic for good measure. Finally got the Nelson-Riggs on
Original motor was designed and built by Rotax, then built by BMW. Absolute bullet proof motor

I really like the GS - I'm hooked for life. When (if) this one wears out, I will be buying another.

    BMW + TW = LOVE
    Yamaha - 1992 TW200
    BMW - 1995 R1100GS
