    Mikuni TM28-1 Intake Boot Options

Hello folks! I've found a couple of posts mentioning the TM28-1 install process and have come across the installation instructions for XT225 which involve cutting the throttle cable bracket to get it to clear the frame. Palm State Crawler managed to get one of these to fit using some sort of a straight intake boot instead of an original angled one, im wondering if anyone knows the part number for it? Also wondering if the XT225 airbox boot will fit the TM28-1 and the original TW airbox?

Go to Aliexpress.com and search for motorcycle intake manifold. Lots to choose from.

ebay all the way. I should probably be looking for a specific one though... Any advice on the search parameters? Or perhaps a part number?

Squirrel, perhaps if you contact forums member "TumbleWeed", he might be able to help you. To my knowledge, he is the only one I know of that is currently running the TM28-1 and has a post on it. If I recall, think he used a xt225 int. manifold and made an adapter for the air filter side. Please keep us informed on your progress!

Hey Renny10n! Thanks for the advice, ill PM TumbleWeed for some info. The image here http://www.xt225.com/projects/carb7.jpg shows the TM33-8012 (same carb body as TM28-1 as far as i can tell) installed on an XT225 using original XT225 intake manifold and airbox boot, although the cables support bracket had to modified to get the carb to clear the frame. I believe another forum member modified the tdub's frame but think id rather modify the bracket. I've sourced the XT boots and just wanted to see if Palm State Crawler could tell me which "straight" intake manifold he used to get it to fit without modifications before i purchased the XT parts, but it looks like he hasn't been active for a little while so looks like ill need to sweat a little modifying the bracket. Will keep you's posted!

Here is a carburetor with an accelerator pump:

    It will need this cable:

And one will need to fabricate an intake manifold by modifying something to make it work.
    Perhaps a starting point:

I have a TM33-8012 carburetor and was at one time considering trying it out. I had actually gone "carburetor crazy" and bought several different ones thinking the new one was better than the last one and I would use that one. I haven't got around to trying any of them yet. Figures. Anyway, a couple of intake manifolds I found that fit the TM33 carb but are a little large for the head. They head port will need to be opened up a little bit.

    Pictures cuz I like them:

Thank you for the pictures elime! Does the mounting hole spacing match the head? Ive already bought the TM28-1 and pretty set on making it work. The XT250 boot fits the carb well but the mounting holes are pretty far off. Ive also noticed they dont have the vacuum line nipple, same as the XT250 boot, were you planning on just tapping one in?
