    Liepa's YamahaTW125

    Hello All!

Firstly I want to send you greetings from Latvia! I am a new member in this community who few weeks ago purchased my first bike - it is a Yamaha TW 125, manufactured in 2000. This model is not very popular in my country but this is the bike what I have looked for

Here will be several pictures from the purchasing day:

Technically the motocycle was in very good condition and the usage was only 17k km.

Now the bike is a little bit modified and below you can find some pictures.

In the nearest future there will be several more modifications and I will update this post as soon as it will be completed

But also I have two technical questons to members:
    • Is it possible to install an oil cooler for this model?

    • Is there any possibility to improve the engine performance? It seems that the stock carburatour is not very responsive at low idle.. Are there any other options in aftermarket? (e.g. Mikuni)

I will appriciate any recomendations and positive criticism

    Best regards,
    LIEPA

Welcome, very nice modifications to your TW125.
Yes, there are commercially available oil coolers:For Sale Oil Coolers These pick up oil supply from the oil filter housing. With fabrication skills one can make a similar oil pick-up and then use an aftermarket pit bike cooler. The Mr.Gizmo bike I have has two heat exchangers made from coils of copper tubing; one uses the above listed oil filter cover and the other takes pressurized oil from the output shaft's outer bearing housing. While currently dismounted I could dig the snow out from my barn and take a picture of the modified left side cover showing oil pick-up...just ask!

Someone else with a 125cc might recommend good carb tuning details. I would not expect dramatic improvements possible greater than stock performance though.

    Hello Guys!

Currently I am rebuilding the engine for my TW125 and during inspection I found that some parts are not in very good condition. So now I am looking for connecting rod set (with pin and bearing), camshaft chain and guide. Also I need a gasket kit for the engine.

Yamaha dealer in Latvia is very expensive and I am looking for much reasonable offer.

Maybe someone from this community can reccomend some online store where I can buy all these parts (original or good quality aftermarket)

I will be very thankful for any information

    Yes!
Sebastian responded to my email very quickly.
He is very helpful, he found all necessaty parts for the repair and even more - all parts were available on his stock. And a price performance for parts is very sweet

So I definitely can reccomend this guy
