Regarding the CDI... it looks like the PO spliced in a BW200 CDI (he's a BW enthusiast), which might explain why I'm not seeing the top-end performance I'd expect, as compared to my friend's '05 TW.

I'll try to dig up an '87 TW CDI, and see if the top end performance improves.

Some have tried different cdi's on their '87's. I don't think anyone has been completely satisfied. Soooooo, if I ever need a new and expensive cdi, I will buy a new one. Yeah, I love my '87.

Yep, I'm leaning that way myself. I plan on riding this motorcycle for a while, so it's worth fixing right!

This little gem showed up on UPS today:

    CDI - 1.jpg

I'll try to get it wired up this weekend, and see if the performance improves.

I think the PO cut/spliced the harness to adapt the BW CDI, so I may have to do the same... I hate to do it, but if the original connectors aren't there, I'll do what I need to do....

Should the wire colors match up between the harness and the CDI?

Either way, I'm happy to have found it!

Handlebar risers, yes. I test fit my 350 tank, and the handlebars need just a little more clearance.

Battery Tender lead, yes. I have them on everything.

Fork boots, no. I got a pair of dust covers for a CB360 that should fit nicely... I'll keep you posted.
