    Seat concepts foam density question

I'm going to heading up to seat concepts to have my seat foam and cover replaced later this week. For you guys that have the seat concepts seat, did you go with the standard density foam or slightly harder? I know on my ktm I could feel my seat pan with the standard density foam and had to go up one and I don't want to have this happen again. I weigh 225lbs.

I got mine from Placerlode. Not sure what the density is, but it made a world of difference on my bad hip.

I'm 220 with gear and the standard foam has worked well for me.

I'm 200 or so with gear and I went with standard density....I definitely would not want it any harder. They spec 160 to 240 lbs. for standard foam.
IIRC, the pad is dual density. I could not imagine ever hitting the seat pan unless I dropped off a 10 foot cliff! (And THAT will never happen in the short rest of my life ) Also, I'll bet the TW pad is nearly two inches thicker than the KTM pad. It's an inch thicker than the TW OEM pad. Call them up and ask! +1 (951) 487-0195

I went with the carbon sides/gripper top.....very happy. This seat will get transferred to my new TW someday.

Edit: It doesn't seem that the pad is dual density from their website....however, it is definitely different density from the OEM.

Yeah I did call them and they said I was basically in between the standard and next step up foam. I told them to make a standard, but I just wanted to double check with you sc owners. He claimed the foam wasn't very think on the tw's, but the sc pics I've seen here look very thick. I ride real slow and easy anyways, but I'm almost always sitting down.

I got mine from Placerlode too. I weigh 152 lbs. (as of this morning) and I wish I sank a little bit more into the seat.

    ....
I measured both raw foam thicknesses at the time I made the switch. The Seat Concepts was 1 inch thicker and almost 2 inches wider....get the standard, you will be fine.

I never thought about density the the SC seats are much ore comfy than OEM it really jumps out at yah when you sit on one

the install is very simple and takes only 15 or 20 minutes you might save the $20 plus tax install fee and do it yourself

If you ever get up near Beaumont CA I can give you an even better deal since there are no postage costs
