got an 05 as well. painted the tank black and took off the reflectors the first week. love that beast!. i took it to 78mph today on the 101 frwy. here in cali. tdubs rule.............

Here is my bike now (6/25/10) after more than a couple of years on the Forum. With the help and ideas from other members, I was able to take a nice new 2006 TW 200 and make it great. 4 gallon Clarke XT=350 tank. Pro-Taper aluminium bars with risers. Much better suspension with Yamaha Tri-Z forks, Banshee shock with V-Star spring. Honda 900 sportbike solo seat with AirHawk seat pad. DeWalt tool case trunk concealing a 3watt cellphone amp, CB and 2 meter Ham rig. Duel range drive system with 14/55 and 15/50 ready to roll on same chain (no need to add sections). 180 cfm ducted fun to cool cylinder and 7' of copper tubing coiled around left frame section fed from oil journal feeding primary sprocket bearing. XT225 skid plate and Trail-Tech electronic speed-O with oil temp read-out.. Enjoy your bike. Gerry

painting the tank and removing all decals made a big difference. other changes were small, like a shifter and my custom risers. when i finish my front fender relocators i will tackle the lic. plate. siganals and whatnot. i keep my ridesfairly clean but dont be fooled, i pound my rides hard,street or dirt.

I haven't customized mine... i'd like to, paint, add some stuff ..you know. I need ot weld a pair of brackets to hang my saddle bags better.. but then again i need a welder first :P
what did you paint your tank with... did you jsut take the decals off clean it and paint away?

push start? this bike is all stock. i dont mess with anything covered under warranty. it runs great and i plan on keeping it that way. if custom means taking all the plastic off then you must love the grime bath you get, if or when you ride! didnt you say you dont even have a motorcycle license?then again most dog's are dirty. mine loves to roll around in the dirt all the time.i can groom her all i want but she loves that backyard dirt!
