I'm not going in the dirt. I just use it for riding in the canyons and in the city. I like the low muffler purely for looks.

One of the things that I really liked about the Kawasaki Versys is the muffler tucked under the engine.  Buell does it too but it's a little big.  I think that’s where a muffler belongs, not plumbed out to the back of the bike like they do on most bikes.  Keeps the burns down and you don’t have to worry about melting gear, bags and so forth.  I think it really cleans up the bike too.

I saw the stuff hanging form the rear fender, Federally mandated reflector, license plate, etc. I believe.  The TW comes with the little reflector below the plate as well and the Prowler would look a lot better without that humango mustache.

Ann Arbor was not a happy city after the game.  3 -14, State.

0 to 60 in  5.7 sec . not bad for a 2800 lb car .

you got one ?  getting one ? my rx8  was about as quick . really bad fuel economy though .

always wondered how the prowlers cornered .  had a 308 gtsi before i got married . cornered like it was on rails . not real quick , but a-lot of fun . front end would kick out on corners before the rear , which was weird . mid engine .

condidering an esprit twin turbo for next sports car .  0 to 60 in under 5 . about 170 top end . can pick them up used pretty cheap .

No, I don’t have one.  I’m not into cars much but do go to local vintage and custom car shows when I’m in the mood.  Wrenching on bikes, both pedal and motor, takes up less space, things are smaller and lighter and it’s done with faster.  I really have a hankering to do an electric vehicle.  Probably a motorcycle because it’s more affordable, especially when going with LiPo batteries.  Do a search on youtube for electric motorcycles and then check out electric karts while you are there.  Those look like Fun!

Oh! You hi-jackers got my thread, that's ok though^_^

Here are two more pics of the bike. I'm entering it in the custom sportbike competition for the International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach, who knows maybe I'll get in.

no offence ,I really like the bike

but if you are going to show it

you should do something about the battery box

maybe fab something that looks a little

cleaner. the way it is now ,it will turn

heads on the street, but at the shows they

will expect perfection.

p.s. wrap up the wires for the tail too. Wink [;)]

Surprise [:O] and there looks like there is a dent in your exhaust at the end of the muffler !!

No offense taken, I agree with you completely. If I do get in I'm going to get the small battery from Japan.

There is a dent in the muffler, I thought my paint covered it up, you have a good eye! Can't do much about that.

I don't really want to win, I just want to get some exposure for the bike, I think it deserves more popularity then it's getting.

ryan, if you go with a mini batt, your gonna have to install a kick start or bump start the bike.
you can get a batt. in the u.s. at like a batteries plus, just get the smallest 12 volt!

my first attempt at a smaller battery was this one, it is a 2.3Ah you can see its a bit larger than your ideal mini batt, BUT it will still start the bike

It looks pretty long, but I'm sure you could squeeze it in there somewhere. Maybe I'll stop by Osh and see what they have.

Definitely remove the rear pegs and the mount tabs if you dare.  I took all that stuff off the 89.  going hunting for that K&N this week.

After finally getting the 89 project on its wheels and standing back a bit, i believe the swingarm needs some stretching.  The fab shop nextdoor to my work is going to do the surgery for me. I'll post some pics if i can get them and pricing too.  maybe i can save some people some expensive freight.  Richie does some nice work.

Have fun.

I'd definately like to see it if you get your own swingarm built. I've often wondered what the actual price to fabricate something like that would be.

That's a California only thing. Some sort of emissions filter. I would take it off, but there is a hose that leads to the gas tank, and I'm not sure what would happen if it's removed.
