Count on me for a set. Just let me know when you're ready to ship & how much to ship. Thanx V.J.P. P.S. I don't think anyone would complain about you donating your own time for a well deserved profit. After all, isn't that what we trade our live's moments for? Honored to be in your company of T-dub owners. You are very generous with your time here on earth. Bless you!

I checked the prices of material today, Stainless is out of sight.....It looks like it would cost about $3.11 each JUST for the stainless steel, NOT including any hardware. (dowel pins, set screws) Not to mention the cutting tools (metric taps) required to drill tap 100 holes in stainless.
If I make them out of regular 1018 steel then I'm looking at $0.93 cents a piece. I think I can zinc plate them and it should work fine. You can paint them yourself if corrosion looks like it's going to be a problem after they are zinc plated.
So if we figure that it's going to cost about $1.50 for dowels and set screws and $2.00 in steel for a set of two, add plating ?????$0.50 cents.....Less than $4.00 a set in materials.
Materials $4.00
2-3 Day Priority mail (it went up to $4.65)
My time........(Aha, ha ha ha ha ha ) Cutting tools (who keeps metric taps on hand) Electricity to run the lathe...etc,etc,etc.
I also looked at them again and figured a way to make them a little lighter. The stainless one weigh 3.0 oz. which is an un-acceptable amount of weight to be adding to a high performance machine like the TW200....
I'll make a couple and see what it's going to take.
I think they should be cheap enough so "everybody" can have them on thier bike.

Here is the latest design, The head is still 1/2 inch diameter but the shank is 3/8. They are a little lighter and still do the same thing. (hold the seat down)
These are just regular steel, so you'll have to paint them or plate them.
The "T" handle is stainless.
You can reach right under the seat and feel them so it's easy to remove them without having to get down on your knees and look for them.
REMEMBER, you will still have to fool around with washers to get them to "clock" the way you want them to.
The first person to figure out what they were before they became TW200 seat bolts gets a FREE set to try out and post a report.
I can make these very reasonable, "material wise".
I still have to machine them and ship them but......

They look like they were clevis pins, at least to me, wheres the old R pin to retain them? I used to use those to hold the nose piece on my jet skies on the trailer. If I won, let me know, I want to order a magnetic drain plug too, ship 'em all at the same time, and I'll send you mine back.

John,
Check your email, I PayPal'd you $31 for a magnetic drain plug, you refund me $16 back when you get mine in the mail. Fair enough? Ship all the goodies in one lump sum. Address is in the paypal.
Thanks for all you do, and for the punk f*#ks that screwed this up for all of us by not returning your drain plugs, what goes around comes around, Karma. You are not deserving, stick to adding simple stuff like decals to your bike instead of the real shizzlejism like this that really does work and saves your engine or saves time and wrenching like mule nuts. There are no excuses, when you give someone your word, honor it like a man, or don't bother.

He drilled and tapped the head of the clevis pin, then where the "R" clip went through, he either enlarged the hole by drilling through and inserted some round bar stock. Very clever, less cutting and machining. John has a gift with inventiveness for fasteners and clearly visualizing a problem and a practical solution, plus a full shop of tools, mill, lathe, and cnc programs to get the job done on X,Y and Z coordinates.

Now if I can just get John to design a Mule Nuts decal that's worthy of such a product! May be a mule with a pair of these holding his,,,, ahem, appendages in place? Sorta fits a mule to a 'T'.

A drop of red or blue Locktite....
The "threaded" part or long set screw is tightened into the clevis pin with an allen wrench, it ain't going anywhere because it runs out of thread in the "blind hole" in the clevis pin; thus making it a threaded stud.
If you have a lathe or know someone who does you can make these yourself. I bought 1 3/4 inch steel clevis pins, 1 inch long by 3/16 inch dowel pins and 6mm x 1 x 25mm long set screws.
Just chuck the pin in the lathe, center drill, drill and tap using the lathe to ensure a straight tapped hole. I drilled 1/2 deep and threaded the tap untill it would go no futher. Screw in the set screw, flip it around and sand/buff the pin.
take it over to the drill press and drill and ream the 5/32 inch hole out to .187 inches and press the dowel in the hole untill it evenly "T"'s making the handle.
The "T" measures about 43mm working length to the butt end that holds the seat in place. There's enough room to grab it and tighten or loosen it but it doesn't stick out any further than it has to.
I'll try and make up 25 sets or so this holiday weekend........smiles
I was going to make these using a Citizen Screw Machine but I found these clevis pins while I was looking for the other hardware and for $0.50 cents each I couldn't buy the material that cheap.
They should be real reasonable, after all they're seat bolts........not something as sexy as say......a drain plug with a magnet in it.......smiles

Dave, I'll be happy just to get my money back. I do this kind of stuff all day long so it comes very easy to me. That's one of the reasons I'm a lousey business man, I have a really hard time applying any worth to my work. Some people may say, "I'll bet that was a pain in the A$$ to make".......believe me this is cake.
Making an upper receiver for a prototype machine gun out of a solid block of aluminum without any blue prints (using a solid computer generated model) without making any mistakes IS a pain in the A$$.
Just send me what you think they're worth and I'll be happy. $5 for 2-3 day Priority mail stamp so I can mail them out from my house. (I hate going to the post office)
I already made these for my bikes so........
