Anyone "Derestricted" the Air Filter Mesh Backing?
On most carb bikes I've looked into a bit I've found anti-backfire mesh screen between the carburettor and the air filter.
When people have done airbox/carby/exhaust mods this is usually removed.
The TW equivalent is the structure that holds the air filter in place from being sucked into the box and breaking the seal.
I haven't seen anyone do any derestriction on this side of the air filter when they have opened the holes in the plastic cover on the other side.
My guess it isn't necessary because people have managed to lean it out without going that far, but I just thought about it and wondered if anyone has.
