If you're tucked in on a perfect flat with no wind blowing against you, it'll get up to 110 mph, or so I've read. That seems reasonable for a light bike with 32 hp and 16 torqe I'd say.
P.S. get one of these if you sell your R6 :D

Get one kj687. I did. I found a 2007 in showroom cond. locally with only 1100 miles on it. Can't say enough good things about the ninja 250.
I'm still unsure of the 2008 though. Something about the scoop in the side of the cowling on the 2007 and older ones looks more kick ass to me.

I really wish they would have redone the EX500. I guess they did though, it was called the 650R :P

trailzrider: yea its a nice little bike. I really like the 08 though.
JimmyD: Yea man if they upgraded the 500 like they did with the 250 it would be a really sweet package! But then again, like you said, for another 1500, you can get the 650. I really like the look of the 09 Ninja 650! It looks like a punk bike :) Just my style!

What is the Ninja 650 there, what we call the ER6N parallel twin competitor to SV650? Aussies are miffed we are still force fed the carby GPX250 with ninja 250 dress, not the EFI like you guys have. Our 250 market sux because it is the learner legal limit, so there are guaranteed sales from new riders who think it is special and want their first bike to be new. East coast has the power to weight ratio scheme, with manufacturers providing restricted models for learner year, that can be derestricted for "grown up" years. I love the Ninja 250, VTR250, but reality is I can get a 2001 Duc Monster in equal or better condition for same price. Debatable choice, but the inflated value of the 250's due to the legal limit is lame. I love 250s though, just not the price :( Friend's friend has a black '08 Ninja 250 here, going for his test Tuesday. Black on black on black makes for bland, bland, bland bike!!! I'm a frog green man at heart... but will look at the 650, they've been quiet, none on 2nd hand market etc.

eldavo: Yea I really like the green ninjas. The Ninja 650 here in the U.S. is the same as the ER6N. The Ninja 250 is not EFI here, it's carbed. Europe has the EFI version.

The ER6N is actually the unfaired version of the Ninja 650 (aka EX650).
The North American '08 EX250s are also carb'd... so don't feel bad. :) Seems only Europe got the FI models.
