Well I might have just Hosed myself. I saw a bighorn radial 26/9/14 on Dennis K and put it on with the rest of my order. then realized later that most everyone has put the Bighorn 2.0 on there bikes. I guess im trying to figure out what the difference is in weight and what kind of mods if any i will have to do to get this tire to fit. anybody got any suggestions?
The tire I ordered is

You got a brilliant tyre. Almost everyone has the same one you have and it's great. The bighorn 2 is quite new... You will find the original Bighorn is just awesome... so don't sweat. Just fit it and enjoy.

were in western OZ are you? i did a bit of road triping over there a few years back and saw lots of crazy motorcycles.
i want to take my wife over there and do a lap around the Continent some day.

Hey AK,
you are welcome.
We are in Perth, north of the city. Some amazing riding here. I hope to do some serious trips here at some point... maybe up into the Kimberly and the great sandy desert...
Always up for a trip if you ever get back this way...

I just put on a new Maxxis 6006 130/80/18
Cant get out of the driveway yet to try it though, too much snow and ice.
But its melting fast !!!

After you mount the bighorn, you won't have to wait for the snow to melt.
I really like your bike stand , local bike shops here don't carry that style...

So I just thought i would post this if anybody else wanted a tidbit of info i found
Bighorn 26x9R14 is 23lbs says maxxis has a width of 9" diameter 26 $78
Bighorn 2.o 26x9R14 is 21.2lbs says maxxis has width of 8.7" diameter 26.4 $106
Dennis K said the bighorn was 24.5lbs.
Too much info But interesting to me

I just mounted a Bighorn 2.0, 26x9R14 (It actually weighs 21 lbs., 9.5 ounces, but as you said, TMI)
It mounted fairy easily, bead seated at around 55 psi except for one 6 inch area, so I dropped it to 40 psi and rode it around town and at some point it fully seated. Be careful if you try this bead-seating method, though, because this tire swells up like a beachball at anything over much over 25 psi and it will contact swingarm parts. Back the pressure down til it clears before you ride off.
No clearance issues and no trimming at 20 psi.. But my bike has (for now) nice, shiny, new straight wheels. If yours are tweeked it will probaly hit either the chain guard or the brake spring bracket.
Piece of cake, with one sniggling exception, which I attibute in part to that extra half inch of height compared to the original Bighorn.
I'm running a 50 tooth rear sprocket for now, and there's no way to get the chain length right. I added one link and it was too short to get proper chain tension without rubbing the crotch of the swingarm. With two links the chain is too loose, even at the last (#9) notch on the snail adjusters. Range of adjustment is limited to from just under #7 to #9.
A bigger sprocket will solve the chain length issue to a degree. I've been riding it most of the day and it is definitely undergeared, even on the street, so IMO a minimum 52-55 tooth sprocket is in order with this tire anyway.
So you're probably better off with the original.
Powdercoated '87 frame, disc front, XT350 tank, tall bars, risers, '03 motor and electrical, kickstarter, cut ATV rear rack, TCI front rack, upgraded wiring, kickstart, no safety switches, D2moto pegs, 8" headlight, Bighorn2, 55t, etc. Constantly in flux.

Lizrdbtrh, very cool that you mounted a Bighorn. I've been busy but WANT to ride with ya soon. I can't wait to compare tires! BTW, when I went to a 55t sprocket, I "got my bike back" if you know what I mean. The stock 50 along with my Duro the bike just needed a bit more help. The 55 did it.

Yep. The power loss is significant. Quite a noticeable change in trail, too.
Everthang begets some other thang. lol.
The chain issue was the one thing I'd not considered. That extra half inch of tire height is the culprit. I think you'd have just enough swingarm clearance with the original to run a 50 if you install the original Bighorn.
I may wimp out and throw the danged thing in the back of the truck for once. I want to head over to Joshua tree today but it usually flash floods in the low spots on 247.
