18mm?

I need to check the sparkplug,  engine won't start after sitting for a month.  What is the correct size spark plug socket for a stock plug?

Yep...18mm...neither Sears or Harbor Freight sells them individually...I had to try several auto parts stores to find one...Auto Zone stocks them but only one per store so the first Auto Zone was sold out...I the second one was sold out after I left.........

The oem tool kit has an 18mm  tool in it...but I wanted a socket....

Yup. I didnt know there were 18mm hex spark plugs. Sears had the socket. Ace had every size except 18mm. 3/4" (19mm) six point will sort of work since plugs are not high torque.

Here's a link for those of you that don't like driving about town. I usually find motion pro to do the job but there is also a cheapie charlie that will probably do just as well.

I found the 18mm  Socket at Sears for 4.79.  The plug was fine, come to find out after I drained the bowl on the carburator she fired right up.  I guess condensation must have built up.  Runs great.
