I think I got some bad gas today, causing the bike to cut on and off at all speeds including take off. It was raining, so maybe one of my carb vents was sucking water as well. Anyhow, when I got home, I used a little bit of seafoam and let it run a little in the driveway. It started running better (as always with seafoam) so I turned the petcock off and let it run out of gas. I was going to unscrew the cheap @$$, screw to find I have no screwdrivers that will fit it. Don't get me wrong, I've got a complete set of Snap On, lots of Mac and Matco, and a complete set of craftsman as well. Not a single one would fit without stripping or rounding out the cheap pot metal screw! It appears really shallow, and an odd size. Anybody have any ideas what size it is? I'm gonna have to order new screws for the twins tomorrow. Would like to have the correct tool as well. Thanks for any insight.

Never had a problem. I replaced mine with an allen head with holes drilled in the end like the stocker. No more problems.

I turned mine with a No. 2 phillips bit that has diamonds embedded in it. There is some abrasive stuff in tube that you put on any screwdriver that would probably also work.

Just a thought. have you checked to be sure there is no dirt in the screw head? I alwayse use a pick to clean out the head of the screw to be sure.

Ok, got the wifes drain plug screw out without issues, but mine turned into a nice round hole! even an inpact tool didn't jar it loose. Looks like this weekend I'll have to remove the tank and side pannels, then remove the carb, turn it over, and remove the bottom so I can work on my workbench and try to figure out how to get that rascal out. Any suggestions? I don't know if its large enough to drill out or not, and I don't want to damage the female threads on the housing. what to do.......

With luck a small pair of vicegrips will get enough bite. Otherwise, you could try cutting a new groove with a hacksaw. Careful work with a chisel will put a knick in the side of the head, then tap with a hammer to jar the screw loose.
Last resort, an EasyOut.

Go at it with a drill (largest size possible)
after you drill in a little reverse the direction of the drill so the bit will grip the head in reverse. Do not remove the drill just reverse the direction and go slow.
Good luck.
i thought i had this web shoot all figured?
