Seems like they may get caught up in the chain..    Report

They are overflow drains and dischaging below the bike keep the fluids off the bike.  The two nipples on the swingarm are zerk fittings and allow you to grease the swingarm bushings with a grease gun. If your only tool is a hammer everything looks like a nail.    Report

If they are threaded through the little wire loop and tucked in front of the swing arm they should stay there.
