03-06-2010, 7:06 PM HAWK Joined on 05-30-2007 Idaho Posts 9 Any Tune-Up Suggestions Attachment: 2005TW200.jpg I just bought a 2005 TW with only 80 miles on it. I have changed to Oil, Oil Filter and put new gas in the tank with some seafoam. There is still a lot of black smoke coming out of the exhaust. What other things should I check on to get this bike (which has saddly been sitting in the previous owners garage most of its life) ready to ride?    Report

Do some "searches" for a photo of the correct one. Yamaha did put some of the non-hole BAD ones in the correct part labled box. Look for a dirty/stuck float valve. TW-less for now... I am not an expert at cleaning carbs but not a noobie either (so i thought). I cleaned the carb with some carb cleaner and ran some fishing line through the jets. Put it all back together and to my suprise I can't get the bike to start now. It just turns over and over. What the $#%^ could I have done wrong. There are basically 4 screws to take the bottom bowl off the carb clean and put back together. Any ideas? Thanks !    Report
