Carb hoses missing and spewing gas.

Can anyone tell me or show me the set up for the hoses using the "Y" connection. I cant get a great picture from the service manual.
Also added gas to the tank today and found the carb wants to spew gas out the overflow hose. Are these 2 things related or is that a problem with the floats?

Floats are stuck, there's crud in the needle or the float is set too high. In any case you'll want the hoses routed right to prevent crud from entering the float bowl.
The point of the hoses is to direct the gas to the ground in just such an occurrence.
There are two hoses, one on either vent, and around 4-5 inches long. these lead to the top two fittings of the "Y". The bottom of the "Y" gets one piece of hose leading toward the ground, usually terminating just below your swingarm. This tube usually passes through a hose bracket which is mounted to the back of the motor, but it isn't present on all TW's.
I lost my ability to resize pics for some reason. Maybe someone has one if my explanation wasn't helpful.

thx for the info. opened up the carb to check on the float and all seems well. Hooked the fuel back up and noticed when the choke was pulled that is started running again. hmm. After turning off the fuel and starting again it seems fine. It has sat for an hour after running, now there is a small area of fuel under the bike? Not sure what to do. Don't want a leaky bike
will try to sort out the hoses tomorrow
love the smell of a running tw

i had a similiar problem. the previous owner had fiddled with the carb and apparently didnt know how to put it back together. they put the hose on the float bowl drain and had the screw loosened some. might check that?? as far as the hoses on my 91 there are 2 nipples that angle towards the back. those go on the y pipe. there are two nipple on the bottom one is the drain (this has a screw through it) no pipe on that one it goes on the other. the last nipple should go just about straight up thats your gas intake nipple... hope that made sence ( it did in my mind) and is helpful!

Hi guys. If I may "but in" here, Justice has an '87 like mine. The bottom hose goes to the ground in front of the swing arm crossmember as you described, through a wire loop to keep it in place. One of the top arms of the Y goes to the bowl vent on the carb. On my bike at least the second arm of the Y connects to a hose that runs along the top frame rail underneath the gas tank and is tucked under the same ty-wraps as the wiring harness. It terminates somewhere near the middle of the tank. This third tube will allow air to enter the Y from above. I think that this stops the drain hose from lowering the pressure in the float bowl when gas is draining out. It sounds like this third arm may be connected differently in newer models........
