Howdy - hey, does anyone have experience with getting a taller seat, or having the stock one modified to be flat, instead of dipping down behind the gas tank? My long legs are complaining when it's time to stand on the pegs. Thanks for any input!!

I don't have long legs, but after completing my first continuous 500+ mile weekend on a TW I have determined that the stock seat was designed by a very sick inividual..
Mine needs to be redone. It's the only downside of the bike I can't live with.
Powdercoated '87 frame, disc front, XT350 tank, tall bars, risers, '03 motor and electrical, kickstarter, cut ATV rear rack, TCI front rack, upgraded wiring, kickstart, no safety switches, D2moto pegs, 8" headlight, Bighorn2, 55t, etc. Constantly in flux.

google how to rework motorcycle seats. There are several sites dedicated to doing your own seat. Consensus seems to be using real seat foam and fabric intended for motorcycles is well worth the extra cost over scavenged materials.

+1 on materials... I had the seat for my '80 Yamaha 850 redone with material designed for snow mobile seats. It was the most comfortable and easiest maintenance seat I ever had. Using less than 1 sq. yard, there is no reason to skimp on quality.
