I thought a thread on this issue was in order.
I will start with a link to step-by-step tutorial on a XT225, which is very similar to our TW200.
Yamaha XT225 Valve Adjustment Tutorial
Please add to this thread, any corrections that might be needed from this link as well and any additional helpful hints.
As noted on the old forum, the special valve adjusting tool can be made by screwing a Robertson Deck Screw into a piece of wood. The square hole in the Robertson screw is the same size as the special valve tool.

I thought this topic was "pinned" already with no way to respond. Anyway, I found your step-by-step very good. I printed your tutorial and plan on using it to adjust my valves this week. Of course I will use the TW valve specs since my TW specs are slightly different than the XT. Thank you very much for posting this information. I'm guessing others have or will use this information.
P.S. I used my last deck screw a few weeks ago, so i'll have to either buy the tool or more deck screws (which I do need), to make the procedure easier. Thanks again for the info.

Admiral, no just because it's pinned doesn't mean you can't add to it. I wasn't looking for thank-yous (I do accept yours thought), I was looking for others with experience to chime in with tips on this. Perhaps I covered everything so completely? That would be most unusual...
